4th Edition | 25 June - 1 July 

Northern Chords Festival is rapidly establishing itself as one of the most exciting North East musical events of the year. Bringing the best young and dynamic talent from across the world to the banks of the Tyne, to perform eclectic and exciting programmes, Northern Chords offers a refreshing take on classical music.

 

With musicians from 10 different countries, including stars such as BBC Radio 3 New Generation Artist Ben Johnson and Royal Overseas League winners The Busch Ensemble, Northern Chords expands in 2012 to include 11 concerts over 7 days, in venues ranging from intimate churches to the magnificant The Sage Gateshead. 

This year we also work with Gateshead Youth Orchestra in a side-by-side project at Newcastle Cathedral, and we continue our relationship with Newcastle University, comissioning three new works that the fabulous German piano quartet, Notos Quartet, will perform at the Gala Concert. We hope to see you at one of the concerts!
